TransTech Academy has a well-deserved reputation for excellence. Recently, mentorSTEM launched a new partnership with General Electric, bringing our model for group and project based mentoring to Cardozo High School, the home of TransTech Academy.
Our first step was to match more than twenty students with an equal number of dynamic volunteer mentors from the public and private sectors. Then, after putting these amazing matches in one room, we stirred the pot with exercises designed to help the students develop a Personal Mission Statement.
It was a great way to kick off the new relationship between mentors and students – and a fantastic start to our partnership with GE and TransTech. We all walked away – students and mentors – with some new knowledge and understanding.
